About Us
The Punjab State chapter has emerged from the Northern Chapter of ASI, which constituted the northern states. First, Jammu & Kashmir and then Haryana broke away from the Northern Chapter and formed their state chapters, followed by Punjab.
The constitution of the Punjab State chapter was passed on 28.08.2016 at the first General Body meeting. Dr. F C Eggleston, Prof of Surgery - Christian Medical College Ludhiana, was the Founder and President of the Northern Chapter. An oration in his honour has been maintained in the Punjab State chapter.
The Chapter has been very active in academic as well as social activities. Even during the height of the Covid pandemic, the Chapter continued the academic activities online and provided oxygen concentrators and PPE as a part of its social activities.
